St. Anselm’s Fall Harvest Festival Benefits Trinity Center
Each October St. Anselm’s celebrates the Harvest Festival, the primary fund raising event for Outreach. Harvest Festival proceeds go directly to support the work of Trinity Center in its efforts to feed and support local area homeless and to bridge them from the alleyways and overpasses back into self-supporting lives. Trinity Center is an oasis for the homeless that is visited each day by an average of 50-60 people to get clothing, food, showers and general help.
The 2014 Harvest Festival, put on entirely by volunteers, took place on October 4th. It was attended by 104 people, the largest gathering we have ever had for this event. Guests were entertained by live music and treated to a delicious dinner with an international menu of Asian, Latin, and Italian foods. Funds were raised through a combination of dinner sales, a raffle, silent auction, and a live auction. The top prize was a seven-day cruise for two on the Holland America Cruise Line, winner’s choice of Alaska, Caribbean, and Mexico escapes.
Proceeds ($16,948) from the event, more than double 2013’s proceeds, was donated to Trinity Center.
